QUINT ORING is the active redundancy module from the QUINT POWER product family that can be mounted on a mounting rail.With the help of the redundancy module, two power supplies of the same type that are connected in parallel on the output side for redundancy can be fully isolated from eachother.Redundant systems are used in systems that demand particularly high requirements for the reliability. The power supplies involved are sized such that the total current requirement for all consumers can be covered by one power supply alone.If the total requirements increases beyond the nominal current of the power supplies to be supplied as a result of additional installed loads, for example, the power supply system is no longer redundant. Likewise, a defect in the power supply or in the wiring can lead to the loss of redundancy.This can be detected immediately via a floating signal contact and a corresponding LED.The Auto Current Balance (ACB) technology allows uniform distribution of the load current across the connected power supplies so that the life of the redundant system can be significantly increased. | Conrad |
