First member of the Microchip CAN family of 8-bit microcontrollers for CAN network applications. It provides 32KB of flash memory including ISP, 2KB of boot flash memory, 2KB of EEPROM, and 1.2KB of RAM. In X2 mode a maximum external clock rate of 20MHz reaches a 300ns cycle time.

Special attention is paid to reducing its electro-magnetic emissions.
